Follow the material to its destination

A useful way to inspect a line is to follow one material from collection to deposit intake. Check each connection rather than changing several machines at once. This isolates the first point where the flow stops.

Update 1.0.3 says belt-delivered dust and stone pay when they arrive at the deposit intake. It also corrects the intake payout to the amount shown on screen. This is not a complete price formula for every material.

Mergers alternate their inputs

Version 1.0.4 explicitly changes mergers to alternate between inputs. A line’s behavior therefore needs to be judged against that rule, rather than an assumption that one input always has priority.

Any player can also place mergers and splitters on other players’ conveyors in 1.0.4. Outdated host-only advice can send a group down the wrong troubleshooting path. Use our conveyor checklist for a line that is not moving material.

What changed for J.O.O.N.A.S.?

The 1.0.4 announcement changes how J.O.O.N.A.S. works: it operates by sector, sends material to the nearest catcher instead of returning to dock for each delivery, and keeps working when no player is nearby. Its status is visible in the panel and on the map.

The developer describes faster cleaning in this update. That is a developer claim, not our production benchmark. The Capsule Catcher capacity also increases to 100 kg, a useful confirmed limit when planning collection.

We have not measured a best placement pattern or exact output rate. If an older video shows repeated dock trips, compare the version before treating that route as the current rule.

Build incrementally and protect the save

Validate a short delivery path before expanding the network. Introduce one junction at a time, check whether materials reach the deposit, and coordinate construction with the crew. This is general diagnostic advice rather than a developer-prescribed layout.

The game added automatic backups in 1.0.4. Learn their limits in the save backup guide, and keep the patch timeline nearby when a machine behaves differently from a launch-week guide.
